African Territories in the Bible: LIBYA

The second territory that is mentioned in the bible that I will briefly discuss is LIBYA, (Ezekiel 30.5; Daniel 11.43; Acts 2.10). Libya is a Greek word for this territory, which is located west of Egypt along the African Coast. As a matter of fact, the inhabitants of Libya originated from PHUT, one of the sons of Ham.

The people of Libya were known as valiant warriors (Jeremiah 46.9) who could "handle the shield". In addition, this country specialized in producing mercenaries and supplying other countries with them (Ezekiel 27.10) and played important roles in the Bible!
